Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has already commented on Sony's newly-unveiled NGP, but you've probably noticed that he didn't really say too much. That's because of a misunderstanding regarding Apple's iPad.During an investment call on Friday, Iwata noted that one reason he doesn't like to comment about the competition is because of an incident where he referred to the iPad as a big iPod Touch. "I didn't say it with any positive [or] negative connotation," he said.
But when the quote was translated into English "the nuance had gotten distorted... it became a story about how I trashed the iPad as just a bigger iPod Touch." Of course, protective fans of Apple products came out of the woodwork and slated Iwata in response.
"I read these remarks online and the situation had become almost surreal," he laughed. "So my view now is that it's not good to even give my first impression [on another company's product]."
