Logitech, traditionally a manufacturer of PC software, has announced that it would very much like to create more console-based hardware.
The company was given a taste for armchair gaming when it partnered with Sony to bundle its force feedback racing wheel with Sony’s Gran Turismo 3 in all gaming territories earlier this year.
In a recent interview, company CEO Guerrino DeLuca stated that Logitech was in talks with other hardware manufacturers to bring high-end peripheral support to Nintendo GameCube and the Microsoft Xbox.
“We thought there was an opportunity to bring out technologies that we built around the PC to somewhere else, and that somewhere else was PlayStation 2. Video game consoles are our entry into the living room. We are a desktop-office-den kind of company, but we also want to be a living room company.”
Ahh, sweet! So, if Sega GT for Xbox is any good, you might just be able to enjoy it with a dedicated force feedback wheel from Logitech. Groovy!
