The developer of the Uncharted series of games, Naughty Dog, has revealed the games that have influenced its past titles and projects currently in development. You may recognise a couple of these.
The boss at Naughty Dog, Evan Wells, explained that the developer's own title, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, would not be his choice for greatest Playstation game of all time as choesen in a recent survey by the magazine OPM. The titles that were worthy of taking the top spot in his book were ICO and Rockstar's GTA III.
Wells praised ICO, explaining that:
"[ICO's] the kind of game - that linear, narrative-driven experience - that we're focused on making right now."
"Everyone in the office has been influenced by it greatly; it's just a fantastic game."
Anyone expect to see Nathan Drake holding hands with a female side-character and keeping shadows at bay? Or would that too out there for something like the next Uncharted title in the series? All we can say (like the series' stalwart Sully) is "Goddamn!"
