Keiji Inafune Strikes Again: Wants his Name to Sell Games
Ever controversial games industry 'legend', Keiji Inafune, has spoken once again on the state of the Japanese games industry following his departure of Japanese development giant, Capcom.

The ever outspoken developer has said in a recent interview with Japanese games website 4Gamer that he feels that his generation (Inafune himself is 45 years of age) is holding the games industry back and that there are many individuals who don't work as hard as they should, taking their company's commitment for granted.

Asked of the attitude of Japanese businesses towards lifetime employment for committed individuals, Inafune responded that:

"It's like a Communist state. Working as hard as you can is your own loss. Not working hard becomes more advantageous. But doesn't that get in the way of making games? You can't make good games by just taking it easy."

Looking towards ideas of Western development, Infaune added that the West's development approach was more alluring and allow for more opportunities and creative freedom. He also added that this acted as the catalyst for quitting Capcom and in his own words:

"Wanting to try my own strength is absolutely driven by the desire to know if a game can sell because it's made by Keiji Inafune and not 'Inafune of Capcom.' This was something that was absolutely impossible from within Capcom."

Are you interested in where Keiji Inafune will land? And would you be interested in playing any games developed by future teams that he may head up? Any thoughts, feel free to post them below.
