Brisbane-based games developer Krome Studios, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed among others, has closed it can be revealed. The staff at the Australian game studio were let go from their positions on Friday, October 15th with key members being re-hired as a skeleton crew to finish off development duties.
This follows reductions in Krome's workforce in April and November last year when 50 and 60 employees were let go respectively.
The studio was probably best know for titles such as the recent
Blade Kitten,
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and, of course, versions of the
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed franchise.
It is sad to see the developer, formed in 1999, close its doors for the final time. We wish all of Krome Studios' former employees the best in their future endeavours.
