Rumour has it that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will get their own
Star Wars: Clone Wars game. Cease your cheers of joy and disbelief! Yes,
Clone Wars - and not even a remake of the Pandemic games from
the early Noughties... we would imagine.
Apparently, "sources familiar with the project" say that Australian-based Krome Studios is working on a game called
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes for the two 'next-gen' consoles.
The game is said to be a third-person action title focused on melee combat with a co-op mode built in. It will apparently have both 'Jedi' and 'Clone' missions. Anakin Skywalker or Padawan Ahsoka Tano will be playable in the Jedi missions, while in Clone missions bounty hunter Cad Bane (and possibly more characters) will be up for grabs.
Krome previously worked on the
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels games
released on the Nintendo Wii and
DS. The company also handled
The Force Unleashed on Wii, PS2 and PSP. Giving it a spot of next-gen experience is work on
Hellboy: The Science of Evil.
This is, of course, consigned to the rumour bin for now. SPOnG wouldn't, however, be at all surprised if it's true...
