CHIPS Lives On with Darkplains
UK-based independent games retailer CHIPS is back in business following the closure of partner company Chipsworld last year.

The company's MDs, Don McCabe and Nik Agar have formed a new company called Darkplains Limited which has allowed the two to go ahead with re-opening seven of the retailer's stores as well as arrange new sites for a head office and warehouse facility together with relaunching the company's website.

Those seven stores will join the thirteen existing CHIPS-branded stores which currently operate across the UK. McCabe explainedd to games trade website MCV that:

"In the end Chipsworld was forced to go into liquidation, I’d much rather have fought through it all and paid everybody off. Thankfully very few suppliers were affected, and the whole situation allowed us to reorganise."

Happy to hear that the CHIPS business lives on? Let us know in the comments below.

Bah! I saw the headline and thought it was a CHiPs game based on that old crappy TV show.

Not surprised really, they over charge for all their games. I know its a smaller firm but lower prices might help them out against the likes of grainger games etc
