Two Call of Duty-related rumours are doing the rounds right now. Handily one relates to Treyarch, while one relates to Infinity Ward.First up, in a novel use of the word 'confirms',
CVG states that it can "confirm that Activision has pencilled in a November release for the seventh Call Of Duty - which will be set in the late 1960s,
during the Vietnam War."
Apparently this confirmation comes not from Activision but from "a senior UK trade source" who tells that site that, "It's going to be November again - just as with World At War and
Modern Warfare 2".
So, a
CoD game for Xmas.
Next up, a "
VG247 source" states that, "Infinity Ward is not creating
Modern Warfare 3... and is instead working on something 'completely new'".
Let's say for a moment that for some reason Activision-owned Infinity Ward has turned around to its parent and said, "Hell no! We won't go!" for the follow-up to the world's most successful entertainment launch ever. Yes, let's say that IW is "pulling a Bungie", just who will be doing it? Possibly the
newly formed Sledgehammer Games.
