President of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime has stated that when it comes to DSi-only games, "(I)don't know; don't know what's going to happen two years down the line. But let me say this, if I'm a developer, it's awfully hard to ignore the almost 35 million unit installed base just in the United States of the original DS and DS Lite. So, there will certainly be certain games that have what we called 'DSi-enhanced content'; so supplemental content that you can take advantage of with a DSi.
"But for those developers and publishers who are going after only the DSi opportunity, it's a little tough."
He tells this and more to the ever annoying Adam Sessler. He also drops the news that Nintendo isn't much bothered by the economic downturn. The company is still selling games and hardware, in fact, "We're not seeing the consumer being hesitant to pay for great content, great hardware and great value.... we're not seeing the consumer, so far, being reluctant so far, to pay for Nintendo content."
