Universal Studios and developers Arxel Tribe have jointly announced that Hannibal Lecter will be given a fresh lease of life, (or should that be death?) as the star of a new video game.
The star of Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs will enable you to be “facing the beast in a real time 3D action/adventure and explore the darkest side of his personality,” in the comfort of your own home. How utterly delightful!
“Since The Silence of the Lambs, Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter has become one of the strongest characters in film history ever. Universal Studios and Arxel Tribe are proud to announce that Hannibal will now become a 3D hero in a video game that will be released by end of 2002.” Hannibal a 3D hero?
Surely this is just the opportunity that the anti-videogame violence bunch have been waiting for. And do they have a point? Would you want your kids emulating Lecter on their PlayStation 2?
