Arxel Tribe have recently announced that they shall be releasing a PC game based around the Hannibal story, predictably titled: Hannibal – The Game. Just like the film and book, the game follows Clarice Starling as she tries to track down the liver-munching Hannibal Lecter. Navigating various sets from the film, the player will need to investigate the peculiar eating habits of Dr Lecter. This will involve interrogating and arresting characters, even using forensic analysis to work out what’s been happening.
Although you won’t get to be a cannibal yourself, it could still make an interesting change from the standard diet of first person shooters. Using a similar mechanic to Eternal Darkness and The Thing, Clarice will need to keep a watchful eye on her anxiety meter; if she gets too nervous, she’ll start to panic, adding further to the profoundly paranoid atmosphere.
Fans of the Hannibal story and PC gamers can start to think about what’s for Xmas dinner when Hannibal – The Game is released in November.
