LucasArts has made the announcement it was teasing all weekend. That announcement is games from its back catalogue making their way onto Steam, starting this Wednesday.
As far as LucasArts is concerned, the headline acts are
LOOM (which was something of a source of irritation for
Monkey Island players - see image),
The Dig (maybe you were self aware by the '90s and remember those two?) and "hit action games including
Star Wars Battlefront II and
Star Wars Republic Commando".
There was a bit of fuss about this lot over the weekend thanks to
LucasArts' Twitter teases. For a moment we dared to hope that it was going to be
the lost Indiana Jones game, but it looks like we'll have to make do with
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
The full line-up of old LucasArts games being made available this week looks like this:
•
Armed and Dangerous•
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis•
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure•
LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure•
LOOM•
Star Wars Battlefront II•
Star Wars Republic Commando•
Star Wars Starfighter•
The Dig•
Thrillville: Off the RailsThat lot's the opening salvo, but expect more to come.
There's other crusty LucasArts fun to be had over the upcoming weeks with assorted
Monkey Island Special Edition for Xbox Live from LucasArts itself, and
Tales of Monkey Island on on PC and WiiWare.
