Harrison Quits as President Following Atari's American Move
"Because of a shift of business operations to the US, Phil Harrison will move from the role of President to that of non-executive Director of the Group. As all Board members, he will continue to assist, support and guide the Company's strategy.

"In parallel, Jeff Lapin has joined Atari as Chief Operating Officer. Jeff Lapin is already an active member of Infogrames’ Board, who brings a strong history in the retail games business as CEO of both THQ and Take Two and other chief executive leadership at Starwood. Based in the US, Jeff will join David Gardner to lead a worldwide organization."

So says the English press release for Infogrames'/Atari's latest earnings report (you can read it here - it's a pdf).

Marillion fan, Harrison had joined Infogrames as a board member, and Infogrames-owned Atari as its president, in March 2008. Prior to that he'd been the driving force at Sony Worldwide Game Studios.

Atari ceased to be a European brand, doing a deal with Namco Bandai that left Atari as a US brand this very month.

Shortly after taking up his new role, Harrison - and evangelist of online, non-boxed gaming - stated, stated, "I think the single-player, disconnected console game is probably in its dotage. Now, that doesn’t mean that those games aren’t relevant going forwards, but they will be enhanced by community features being embedded in them, or downloadable content becoming an inherent part of the experience, or some kind of user-generated content will be part of the experience."

It's possible that following the change of business focus, Atari doesn't agree. We'll get onto tedium of the actual Infogrames' earnings later.

SPOnG hopes that Phil will bite the bullet and start his own development company bloody soon.

According to my monitoring, billions of people in the world get the personal loans from different creditors. Thus, there is a good chance to receive a short term loan in any country.
