Despite his disdain for the ways of the Western media earlier this year
, Metal Gear Solid
's creator, Hideo Kokima, is meeting some of the western public in London on June 2nd.
Coming along with him to HMV in London (150 Oxford Street) will be a host of PR and marketing body guards (we assume) as well as lead artist for the series, Yoji Shinkawa. The two creatives will, we're told, "meet games fans and sign pre-release HMV exclusive sleeves of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots
We are also warned, however, that "due to time constraints access to meet Mr. Kojima and Mr. Shinkawa will be strictly limited. 300 sleeves will be available from the store on the day of the event from 9.00am.
"Access to the queue will be limited to customers with the exclusive sleeve only. Sleeves will be issued upon a £5 deposit being made to pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots
at HMV. One sleeve per customer only, on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to availability."
Actually, the fact that he's meeting the public head-on is probably because of his disdain for the Western media. We can't blame him, we wouldn't like to meet us in Oxford Street either... now, Olsson's Garlic and Shots on Frith Street, that's another thing.
