Hudson Soft has just announced a new Wii puzzle game titled
Kororinpa. Taking advantage of the Wii Remote's motion sensitivity, the game challenges players to roll a cutesy ball through a maze. Sound familiar?
The information SPOnG received reads:
Using tilting Wii's motion sensitive Wii Remote with poise and precision, players must seek to navigate their favourite cute and quirky balls, each with their own look and varying benefits, through complex 3D mazes. Therefore no complicated button combinations are necessary, the tactile controls allow players to tip and tilt their environment in all directions, even upside-down to 180 degrees - making the game intuitive and easy for anyone to pick up and play, whilst still remaining challenging and addictive.
Comparisons to
Super Monkey Ball on the Wii are inevitable, but SPOnG is also reminded of another Hudson Soft title. The release of
Kuru Kuru Kurunin on the GBA in 2001 saw much nashing of teeth as gamers tried to guide a twirling baton (we kid you not!) around an insanely difficult maze.
Kororinpa is due for release on February 23rd in Europe. It will set you back an estimated €49 (£34 to us brits).
