Life After DoA: Is Street Fighter Next For Holly Valance
Rumour has it a new live-action incarnation of Street Fighter, Capcom's eternal 2D beat-‘em-up, is about to go into pre-production, no doubt bringing waves of apathy to fans of the series.

The even money is on Aussie-soap-babe and recent star of DoA, Holly Valance, to take the role of Chun Li – around who the movie will be centred.

This second attempt to monetise the game is, according to reports, going to be penned by Justin Marks who recently got the gig to write the Voltron movie, about which Street Fighter fans are likely going to be more excited. He's also the man behind the scripts of the 2003 flick unbroken and Fast Forward from 2002.

Hyde Park Entertainment is said to be co-producing the film with Capcom, hopefully ridding it of the casting blunders that saw Jean Claud Van Damme take the lead in the 1994 horror we have all tried to erase from our scarred memories.

I think it'd be more fun they introduced SF to Neighbours. ;D
Just think of the epic spectacle that would be the battle between Harold Bishop and Bison or Ryu versus Toadfish.
Honestly!
The viewing figures would be the highest since Scott and Charleen got married.

heheheheh

And Kylie could play Cammy AND Charlene, and fight herself.

That would be hot.

And then Kylie could bitchfight Holly - and that would be hot too.

I think Holly Valance should stick to starring in Prison Break where she can get regular work.

What's with these dumb people? SF Movie was the worst piece of gaming trash to grace the big screen and they want to try another one! They clearly have more money than sense. If they do make it, it should be in CG/anime.
It's clear for ages that fighting based game films don't work well, if they stray from the source material. You are never gonna get the SF feel with live action, unless some matrix like effects are applied, and that is still many steps behind cg and anime.

SF movie did this in spades, not to mention bad dialogue that makes the RE games look really good.

Capcom should learn from what Square have done with FF:AC, but this very news shows they have no clue.
