Codemasters 'on top of the world' as top 100 games developers league is revealed
Codemasters is on top of the world as it's named as the world's leading independently owned video games developer in the official Develop 100 list.
The Develop 100 list ranks "the world's most successful game studios" from 1 to 100*. The list is published by Develop magazine, the respected and authoritative international monthly journal for video game developers.
Of all games developers, irrespective of ownership status, Codemasters was ranked 3rd of all UK-based studios. In the global ranking of all games developers, Codemasters was ranked 9th of 100, but remains the top independently owned operation.
On the ranking, David Darling, Codemasters' Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, said: "The recognition the Develop 100 list gives Codemasters is a testament to the incredible development talent that creates quality titles in our studios. We remain ambitious and continue to grow our award-winning catalogue with exciting new titles for our most popular brands and plan to introduce innovative new games to our portfolio across both current and next-generation platforms."

Codemasters' game brands, including LMA Manager(tm), Colin McRae Rally(tm) and TOCA Race Driver(tm) all contributed to the result and were produced at the company's internal studios, based in Warwickshire, UK.
