Eidos Interactive is to release Capcom's Spawn: In The Demon's Hand on Dreamcast in January 2001.
Spawn is based on Todd McFarlane's hugely popular comic book series of the same name. The game is an arena-based arcade shooter featuring stunning 3D graphics, simultaneous four-player action and a choice of 36 different characters.
As an ex-CIA agent Al Simmons is burned to death by his boss in an act of double-crossing evil. On his journey to hell Simmons makes a pact with the Devil and is resurrected as the multi-morphing Spawn. In exchange Simmons must lead Hell's army, instead he decides to use his supernatural powers in the pursuit of good. He was once a man...now he's a "hell-spawn," battling the forces of evil on Earth - and in himself. Using his strange powers, he fights to uncover the truth about his identity and fulfil his destiny. One of the comic book industry's most popular and intriguing characters, Spawn explodes onto the Dreamcast in a maelstrom of fantastic imagery and fast-paced fighting action.
Straight from the blockbuster arcade game, this home version kicks it up a notch with even more features and modes of play. Up to 4 players can battle in the "death match-style" Battle Royal Mode or choose a computer controlled team-mate to take on in Team Battle Mode. All your favourite characters from the Spawn series are faithfully recreated in the ultimate violence extravaganza.
