Painkiller chosen as the unique official tournament game at 2005 CPL World Tour
DreamCatcher Games and The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) today announced that the critically acclaimed title, Painkiller, which has sold more than 300,000 units worldwide, is the exclusive official tournament game for the upcoming CPL World Tour.

The CPL World Tour will commence late February 2005 and will travel to ten cities across the globe. The tour will offer a US $ 1,000,000 cash purse, the largest cash prize ever for a computer game tournament. Over 10,000 gamers are expected to participate in the qualifiers, stops and finals.

"Painkiller is the new benchmark of 2004 for FPS players," says Angel Munoz, Founder of the CPL. "We are extremely enthusiastic to offer this smash-hit to players."

"Since its launch, Painkiller has earned numerous fantastic reviews and 'Editor's Choice Awards' from all over the world." says Richard Wah Kan, CEO of DreamCatcher. "We are extremely pleased and honored to be part of the world's most ambitious gaming competition."

Constantly improving Painkiller and extending enjoyment for both single and multiplayer fans, DreamCatcher Games will ship an expansion pack, Painkiller: Battle out of Hell, in the UK on November 26th.
