In an unnecessary but welcome fit of generosity, Digital Jesters has made the excellent Samurai Wars mod for their popular game Savage available on free download, allowing those who have not yet tried Samurai Wars that came with the European edition of Savage, a chance to see what all the fuss is about.
Set in Feudal Japan, Samurai Wars allows players to take on the role of a Daimyo (commander) as well as different types of foot soldier. Building on the strengths of the Savage engine, it provides an alternative engrossing playing experience, including the now hugely popular melee content.
The Official Samurai Wars website can be found at www.samuraiwars.savageeurope.com, as well as a forum for players to visit and share thoughts. The mod will be free to download from file web sites, with mirrors placed on the Samurai Wars site.
Savage: The Battle For Newerth – developed by S2 Games – is an online multiplayer game in which players unite to compete in epic battles. The game's unique fusion of first-person combat from a real-time strategy perspective has enthralled American players since its original release late last year, and the recent European Savage retail pack offered a host of additional extras assembled to make the game even better value than ever.
