Shadow of Memories is a PlayStation 2 title that rewrites the rules of game design. Take control of your destiny in an adventure game where you travel through time to solve puzzles.
Konami is proud to announce that ECTS will mark the world premiere presentation of playable code for Shadow of Memories.
The adventure begins where other games finish: Eike, the central character, is dying. As his life slips away a mysterious voice wipers that destiny can be changed. Death is only the beginning.
Eike's soul arrives in a strange place. A mysterious character explains death can be cheated. Time travel is the key. From this point on Eike must journey through centuries past, present and future to unlock his identity and prevent his own murder.
Game Producer, Gozo Kitao, was also in charge of the cult horror smash Silent Hill. Perhaps it's not surprising then that Shadow of Memories seems just a little more twisted than your average game. Beside the sinister plot, the game feels tense and unnerving. Mr Kitao is also concentrating on working out the paradoxes of time travel!
Set in a fictional European city the central theme of time is also influenced by European ideas. Developers were heavily influenced by Goethe's novel 'Faust'. Thanks to the power of PlayStation 2, scenes are incredibly realistic. Characters' faces clearly display their emotions, locations are packed with details and lighting and camera effeects add to the mood.
