UK-based publisher Digital Jesters continues to offer its fans added value by giving budding game makers a chance to try their hands at designing maps and scenarios for the award-winning Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps

The map editor, which is available now, allows Desert Rats fans create single- and multi- player maps and scenarios using the range of tools available to the game's original designers. Gamers can see for themselves how much thought and effort went into each of the game's beautiful levels as they play with a version of the programmers' own editor – although the tool itself has been made slightly more easy to use.

To offer support and encouragement, the Desert Rats forum, located at www.desertratsgame.com, has a whole section dedicated to the map editor and is full of useful tips and guides to help gamers get to grips with the tool and get advice from the people that really know what they are really talking about – fellow gamers.

Desert Rats tells the story of the North African campaigns of World War II from both Axis' and Allies' side. Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps follows the journey of a German and English soldier who were once friends and who are now forced to fight each other. Desert Rats vs. Afika Korps is a Real-Time Tactical game in full 3D boosting single and multi-player mode.

Desert Rats is available now on PC CD-ROM priced, £29.99.
