Interactive audio specialist Jack's Hoose Music worked on two of the titles which have been nominated for second annual Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) Awards.

Jack's Hoose Music created a track called 'Dodge This' for Enter The Matrix (Atari), which has been nominated for the Best Original Instrumental Track award. The company also provided one of the few original tracks for Amplitude (SCEA), which has been nominated in the Best Original Vocal Song category.

The audio awards were created by G.A.N.G. to help promote excellence in interactive audio and sound. The industry itself selects and votes on the nominees and winners, creating credible and prestigious awards which reflect the rapidly evolving quality and creativity being seen in the current generation of interactive entertainment. The Awards cover everything from sound design, dialogue and best soundtrack, through to best commentary, best hardware and most innovative use of audio; reflecting the incredible growth of interactive music and sound.

Based in the same world as the world-famous Matrix movies, Enter The Matrix was released in mid-2003 and quickly became one of the biggest selling games ever, with almost four million copies being sold to date. 'Dodge This', the track created by Jack's Hoose Music, accompanies one of the game's climactic fight scenes.

Amplitude is an entirely new form of videogame, the sequel to the best-selling Frequency, which allows players to mix and remix music tracks by following beats and triggering different parts of the track such as bassline, vocals etc in time to the music. The soundtrack features some hugely popular artists including David Bowie, Garbage, Blink 182, Herbie Hancock and Papa Roach as well as Jack's Hoose Music, writing under the pseudonym 'Gameboyz'.

Ged Grimes, the founder and CEO of Jack's Hoose Music, said "Its always great to be nominated for awards for our games music but the 2004 G.A.N.G. awards are extra special as the nominations and winners are chosen by my peers within the industry on an international scale. Jack's Hoose Music have built a reputation for producing top quality music which results in innovative interactive entertainment experiences for gamers and these nominations recognise and validate our high standing within the industry."

The G.A.N.G awards ceremony will take place on the 25th of March at the Game Developer Conference in San Jose, California.
