"The Flinstones: Burgertime in Bedrock" stars the world's best-loved prehistoric men: Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. Fred has taken a job at Bedrock's newest fast food emporium, 'Bronto King", home of the historic, nay prehistoric "Brontoburger'. But not only has Fred been employed as head chef, he has also has to take care of security duties at Bronto King.

As chef, Fred must create huge Brontoburgers by assembling layers of bun, burger, and other 'extras', climbing ladders and running over the ingredients to force them to drop to the level below. Burgers will be completed when all layers have been assembled at the bottom of the screen.

As head of security, Fred's headaches at Brontoburger are caused by wave after wave of Stone age baddies including mammoths, snakes, sabre tooth tigers, carnivourous plants and even the occasional alien, all set on disrupting his culinary exploits. Luckily for Fred he can fight back. Dropping giant sized Brontoburger layers on his enemies will flatten them. Fred is also armed with his trusty club to bash them. He also has access to a variety of bonuses which appear, including his prehistoric pet Dino, who helps Fred by chasing away the baddies.

"The Flinstones: Burgertime in Bedrock" is based around the enduring gameplay of "Burgertime Deluxe", which has been enjoyed on Gamboy, the arcade and many formats since it's inception. The game features 24 colourful, partially scrolling levels with Stone Age backgrounds, all backed by musical variations of the Flintstones theme. The game may be played the 2 player "VS" mode introducing Barney Rubble into the action.
