ECTS 2000: Few games need as little introduction as Panzer General III: Scorced Earth.
Due to be published by Mattel on PC on September 29th, 2000, Panzer General III is the long-awaited third title in the most successful wargame franchise of all time. With a multitude of exciting new features and enhancements, Panzer General III will have the series' millions of fans frothing at the mouth.
Panzer General III takes place on the Eastern Front - 'Scorched Earth' was in fact the name of the tactical strategy employed by the Russian forces at the time. The game features beautiful 3D graphics similar to those in Panzer General 3D Assault. It also borrows its simplified interface and gameplay.
The two most obvious new features are the 'branched scenario system', which means that every single campaign is different; and the gameplay, which has been improved to allow players to get information more easily (which means that 'combat action' happens more frequently) and the addition of a Battle Generator that allows players to create their own skirmishes.
And if that's not enough to whet your appetite, Panzer General III: Scorched Earth has the following all-new features:
· New dynamic strategic map that allows you to pick your way through battles.
· Four new exciting campaigns, featuring battles to Berlin as the Soviets or to Moscow as the Germans.
· New dynamic Campaign Overview Map that allows you to better control troops during campaigns.
· Over 100 new 3D units.
· New Battle Generator to create random battles using American, British, French, German or Russian forces.
· Improved 3D effects, including All New clouds, fog, rain, snow and storms.
· New Victory conditions.
· Enhanced 3D world featuring a revised adjustable zoom, dynamic lighting and rotating camera and map.
· Improved animations such as tanks with moving turrets that fire.
· An auto-deploy feature that lets you get right into the action.
· Improved and enhanced multi-player, allows for 'secure communication' chat mode.
Panzer General III: Scorched Earth is being released on PC on September 29th 2000.
