Game Network to transfer Horizons: Empire of Istaria to European servers
MMORPG release imminent!
Game Network and Atari are proud to announce that the European beta test of Horizons: Empire of Istaria, a MMORPG to be published by Atari in December 2003, will now be moved onto "Sapphire" its local servers based in Frankfurt, Germany. This re-location will improve the quality of service, making it faster and more reliable, giving European players better access to this eagerly anticipated game. Game Network has been working with its technological partner NTT Verio to ensure the service is running at optimum efficiency in time for the launch in December.
Horizons: Empire of Istaria takes place in the world of Istaria, with huge environments which include cities, towns, castles, strongholds, villages and mystical structures. The environments range from tropical jungles and arctic tundra to windswept plains and mountainous wilderness.
Horizons: Empire of Istaria gives players the true freedom to explore these environments working as part of a team or playing alone to create their own story. Gamers can choose from nine playable races which include Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and for the first time in an online multiplayer adventure, they can play as the mighty Dragon!
Game Network is taking a key role in the launch and maintenance of this exciting title. The company will be producing regular television programming for the game as well providing Customer Support (in at least four languages) and in-game event management.
