Players can now build their favourite rides such as the Pepsi Max Big One and the Nemesis from the 2 parks, re-create the whole park or change the rides to make them even more thrilling. Gill Bridge, Business Development Manager at Blackpool Pleasure Beach said: 'We are delighted to be working with Hasbro Interactive on a title as successful as Rollercoaster Tycoon and we're extremely pleased with the way Chris Sawyer has managed to re-create Blackpool Pleasure Beach and all of its rides.'
The new add-on pack, named Loopy Landscapes, will include all-new attractions, more rollercoasters and rides along with shops such as t-shirt stands and coffee bars. There will also be six new park themes, amongst them winter and urban. Thirty new scenarios, including desert, arctic and medieval castle themes will challenge players with unique terrain and new scenario objectives.
Chris Sawyer said of Loopy Landscapes: 'Even after working on it for nearly 4 years, RollerCoaster Tycoon is a game which still fascinates me, and with the overwhelming demand from players for something more for the game, I took on the challenge of creating a second add-on pack. This is the result, a pack full of new scenery, new themes, new rides, and days, weeks, or even months of new challenges and fun for players of RollerCoaster Tycoon. I am also delighted to be able to include parks based on both Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the new pack, giving players the chance to experience some of the rewards and challenges of running a real-life park.'
Rollercoaster Tycoon has sold well over 600,000 units throughout Europe. It is still a top 10 product in the UK after 75 weeks in the chart and is rapidly approaching the 100,000 unit sales over here. It is due for release at the end of September 2000.
