Following the chart-topping success of Rayman 2 on Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and PC
CD-ROM, Ubi Soft is now releasing the fantastic epic action game Rayman 2 for Sony PlayStation on September 8th 2000. This undeniably addictive sequel to the
original six million-selling platformer has ingeniously made the transition into a 3D superhero for the 21st century and is already being is tipped to be a chart topper.

Rayman 2 comprises a unique blend of blinding, fast-paced action and dazzling visual displays. Dramatic cinematic sequences, vast panoramas and new approaches to lighting and shading all succeed in adding richness and visual excitement to the game. Featuring the uncompromising hero who made his magical debut in 1995 (on PlayStation), Rayman delivers an unprecedented 3D performance guaranteed to set new standards of challenge in the action arena.

The game kicks off when a horde of ruthless space pirates, led by the scheming Captain Razorbeard, invade Rayman's peaceful world and enslave the population in a vast impenetrable fortress-like ship. Rayman miraculously escapes, and with the help of his trusty aid Globox, he sets out to free his people from the evil pirates. Ultimately, Rayman must battle several huge bosses found in 20 worlds, free his friends to regain all his super-hero powers, reclaim the world's scattered energy (split into 1,001 lums), defeat the pirates, as well as restore peace to the world!

"Everyone on the team has been totally committed to creating a truly epic action-adventure unfolding in a natural, wondrous setting," says Michel Ancel, the creator for both Rayman 2 and the original Rayman. The technical team was able to achieve this complicated feat by maintaining intense-speed and complex action game play while simultaneously delivering cutting-edge lighting and 3D modelling techniques.
