Mindscape today announced the forthcoming release of Megarace 3, the third instalment of the futuristic cult racing game series, due to be published for the PS2 in July 2003 for only £19.99.
Since its launch in 1993, the Megarace series has sold a staggering 1.3 million copies worldwide and the third instalment of the series is all set to continue this sterling performance when it is published for PS2 in July.
Forget about racing cars, Megarace 3 allows players to take off in pods specifically designed for speed and combat, to a commentary supplied by dynamic video clips from The Megarace Show presenter, Lance Boyle.
This time the setting is totally different. The high-powered racing pods have caused widespread damage to the wildlife resulting in gigantic animals and germs the size of cars, creating a surreal racing environment.
Across 33 roaring tracks, Megarace 3 offers players a choice of 12 racing pods, each with different specifications. Influenced by the insect world, the vehicles have three modes of speed, defence and attack. All pods are fully customisable with the option of improving the engine, armour and weapon efficiency, essential when competing in a solo race or against fellow players in the Dual or Capture the Flag modes.
Megarace 3 will be published by Mindscape for PS2 in July 2003, competitively priced at £19.99.
