Virgin and Titus Take Two From 17.

Virgin Interactive and Titus Software have pulled off a global coup, with the announcement that they have secured the worldwide publishing rights to Team 17's hugely anticipated Worms World Party on Dreamcast and PC and Stunt GP on Playstation 2 respectively.

This amazing duo of titles follows on from the recently-announced signing of Software 2000's prestigious Bundesliga Manager on PlayStation 2 and PC CD-ROM (see separate release), and the newly-agreed collaboration between Virgin Interactive and car manufacturer Lotus, demonstrating the group's commitment to ground-breaking licensing/publishing and co-production deals.

"Team 17 remains one of the best independent developers around, and we're proud that they have chosen Virgin /Titus as publishers on a world wide basis, despite the fact that they are Leeds United fans and come from Yorkshire." said Sean Brennan, Chief Operating Officer, Virgin Interactive. "We'll be taking the incredibly successful Worms franchise to new depths with World Party, --which is by far the best in the series, and will be one of the first massively multiplayer game available on Dreamcast. Stunt GP is one of the most playable and original racing games around, and we'll be looking to establish that as a brand rather than a one-off title."

"Now we have Virgin and Titus on board, not only am I confident Worms World Party will be the best Worms game yet," said Martyn Brown, Development Director, Team 17, "it will be the biggest-selling, too. Technology is finally catching up with our original vision of people all over the Earth playing Worms together. We have dedicated months of world class development talent to Stunt GP, and we have equal confidence in its success. Yes, I am a Leeds United fan and a Yorkshireman to boot, for which I am rightly chuffed. It will be nice to see our titles topping the charts with Virgin Interactive whilst Leeds win the premiership!

Commenting for the Titus Group, Thierry Ortolan, Business Development Director Titus Software concludes: " The industry is going through a very exciting period with the much-anticipated advent of the next generation consoles. My team is dedicated to seeking out top development talent worldwide to continue to build our business. Team 17 are pivotal to this plan."

Further announcements regarding acquisitions and licensing deals from the Titus Group are expected imminently.
