Looking Glass Reveals First Information About Flight Unlimited III at MicroWINGS Flight Simulation Conference

Flight Unlimited 3, the Critically-Acclaimed Flight Unlimited Series of Civilian Flight Simulators, to Feature Terrain From the Seattle Area

MicroWINGS Conference, Orlando, FL, August 21, 1998 - Looking Glass Studios, a leading entertainment software developer, today announced that it will be presenting Flight Unlimited III™ at the 1998 MicroWINGS Flight Simulation Conference, August 21-23, in Orlando, Florida. At the show, Looking Glass will reveal preliminary information about Flight Unlimited III's next generation technology and features. Flight Unlimited III is being co-published by Electronic Arts.

Flight Unlimited III will feature photo-realistic high-resolution terrain, based on satellite data, of the picturesque and highly varied scenery of the Seattle area. Virtual pilots will have the opportunity to fly from the snow-capped peak of Mt. Rainier to the towering Space Needle, crossing coastlines, lakes, mountains and the unique urban skyline of downtown Seattle along the way. Five new aircraft will be available, including a corporate jet which is new to the Flight Unlimited series. In addition, Flight Unlimited III will feature a new weather modeling system, based on real weather physics, which adds dynamic weather simulations to the flight experience. Also, an advanced graphics engine will add animated ground objects such as boats, cars and airport vehicles.
