Cambridge, Mass, May 11, 1999 - What do you see when you peek into the Looking Glass? Fight, flight and fright! Situated in Electronic Arts booth (Booth #900, South Hall) at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), May 13-15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Looking Glass Studios will showcase an exhilarating lineup of upcoming computer games, including Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe, Flight Unlimited® III and System Shock 2. In addition, Looking Glass managing director Paul Neurath will take part in a panel regarding "How to Present a Game Concept to a Potential Marketer/Publisher" on Thursday, May 13th at 10:00 AM.
"With our first combat flight sim and sequels to two of the most critically acclaimed computer games in history, we are heading to E3 with one of our strongest lineups ever," said Paul Neurath, managing director of Looking Glass Studios.
Looking Glass Studios' 1999 E3 lineup includes:
Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe - This intense and realistic WWII air combat simulation invites players to relive history, flying as an RAF, USAAF or Luftwaffe pilot. Pilots choose from a large selection of flyable aircraft, ranging from sleek, single seat fighters to multi-stationed strategic bombers. Missions include intense dogfighting, strategic bombing, night fighting, naval attacks and fierce air-to-ground combat. With authentic flight models, a revolutionary 3D rendering engine, multi-player support, intense AI opponents and a physics-driven damage system, Flight Combat: Thunder Over Europe authentically recreates the life and death air struggle that took place over Europe in the 1940's.
Flight Unlimited III - In this third installment of Looking Glass' popular flight sim series, players are invited to experience the amazing sensation of flying over the Pacific Northwest. Pilots can choose from 10 different aircraft and soar above 10,000 square miles of photo-realistic mountains, waterways, city streets and landmarks of the Seattle area. The rich and dynamic environment of Flight Unlimited III also includes interactive Air Traffic Control, other AI aircraft reacting to your movements, moving ground objects, richly detailed 3D objects, flight instruction and flight challenges. The realism is further enhanced by the most advanced weather system ever offered in a PC flight simulation.
System Shock 2 - The evil artificial intelligence SHODAN returns in the sequel to the award-winning System Shock, one of the most critically acclaimed computer games of all time. The game features a rich science fiction action/role-playing game system, with detailed character generation and growth, inventory and equipping, and several groups of special traits unique to each character. Filled with beautiful 16-bit color textures, colored lighting and variable translucency objects, System Shock 2 also introduces a groundbreaking, easy to use interface that retains all of the depth of the original System Shock experience. System Shock 2 is being co-produced by Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios.
