Castlevania, one of Konami of Europe’s oldest and most admired franchises, will make its PlayStation 2 debut in an all-new interpretation due for release in Q3 this year.

The PlayStation 2 game is being totally reinvented by legendary game producer Koji Igareshi and the creative team behind the critically acclaimed PSone game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, its award-winning stable mate Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and May 2003’s Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow; both for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance.

Set in a gothic-inspired Transylvania, the PlayStation 2 version of Castlevania again plunges the player into a vampire-hunting scenario. Igareshi-san and his team are committed to exploiting the Sony machine’s capabilities to produce a stunning advance for the series. Exhilarating action, a rich storyline, incredible visuals and breath-taking environments plus a sweeping soundtrack are all promised by the Tokyo-based team - with the game set to be revealed for the first time at this year’s E3 event in Los Angeles.

The game will be shown on the Konami booth (#900) in the South Hall, during the May 14th-16th event, and will mark the first public or press showing of this eagerly awaited title.
