As word spreads of Konami of Europe's Yu-Gi-Oh!(tm) series, the publisher
has
announced its first video game adaptation for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance
handheld. Entitled Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined
Duel(tm), the eagerly awaited title will be available in April.

Following the success of Konami's previous Yu-Gi-Oh!(tm) video games for
PSone
and Game Boy Color, Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined
Duel continues Konami of Europe's promotion of this exciting property.
Faithfully recreating the skill and variety of the Trading Card Game, the
Game Boy Advance title offers players the chance to pit their skills against
Yu-Gi-Oh! fans all over the globe.

Users are dealt three hands, containing Monster, Magic and Trap cards.
Travelling across an expansive game map, the player is then challenged by
CPU contestants and must use the monsters, spells and traps at their
disposal to defeat their opponent. A victory results in additional Duel
Points that are added to the player's score, while an additional five cards
are also earned up to a maximum of 60.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel also allows
fans
to compete against each other in head-to-head matches, courtesy of Nintendo'
s Game Boy Advance Game Link cable. Players can also trade card this way,
swapping rarer Monster cards in a stunning recreation of the original
Trading Card Game. Using this system, players can browse through each other'
s accrued cards before completing swap deals to improve their deck.

Incredibly, Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel
can
also be played against rival players from other countries. A menu screen
invites users to select a language from English, Japanese, German, French,
Italian and Spanish, the game automatically translating via the Game
Link
cable. This unique system ties in with Konami of Europe's plans for a global
tournament in 2003.

Konami of Europe will also include an exclusive packet of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Trading
Cards in every copy of Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined
Duel. The packs contain three exclusive cards for users to add to their
growing Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game collections.
