Neocron welcomes first UK citizens
British games players begin moving in to virtual city.
The weather's rubbish and the nights are drawing in. But there's no need to get too depressed, as a simple alternative exists: just leave the country from the comfort of your own PC – and set up home in Neocron, the world's first persistent online world viewed through the eyes of its citizens.
From today, players can pick up a copy of the game in shops throughout the country, and be in their virtual apartment within minutes. From here, a new virtual life awaits, in which players can apply for jobs, join factions, e-mail other Neocron players, hang around in bars, buy new vehicles, trade and buy items and even embark on careers – the list is almost endless. These virtual lives are set against an on-going plot which will affect every virtual citizen throughout the game's lifecycle.
Neocron is first for the genre, as it presents the game from a first-person perspective, offering a unique view of a virtual world. Players play the game exclusively online, with the world continuing whether players are connected or not. It's like life. Only better.
