Wizardworks Cruises Onto Game Boy(R) Color With 'Harley-Davidson(R) : Race Across America(Tm)'
Popular PC Title Shifts into High Gear with New Handheld Version
Los Angeles, CA, May 11, 2000 - Continuing the expansion of its publishing business into console markets, WizardWorks, a division of Infogrames, Inc., is set to bring the popular PC game, Harley-Davidson(r): Race Across America(tm), to Nintendo's Game Boy(r) Color this August. Harley-Davidson(r): Race Across America(tm) puts players in the driver's seat of their own Harley-Davidson(r) Motorcycle as they race across the country in a series of action packed races. Throughout this rubber-burning adventure, players will experience the liberating rush of the open road from the comfort of their Game Boy(r) Color units.
"Bringing the excitement of the Harley-Davidson(r) title to Game Boy Color is a natural extension for the franchise from both creative and technical standpoints," said Paul Rinde, senior vice president for WizardWorks. "Race Across America provides an action-packed virtual journey on one of America's premier motorcycles that's perfect for hand-held game play, and is sure to appeal to a wide audience that includes millions of devoted Harley(r) fans as well as a more traditional gaming audience."
Harley-Davidson(r): Race Across America(tm) lets players race in four distinct locations throughout the country: The Florida Everglades, the Deep South, the Arizona Desert and the California Coast. Players can also choose from four different Harley-Davidson(r) motorcycles, each with its own unique characteristics in acceleration, top speed, and handling. As the journey unfolds, players will be faced with challenging competitors, unpredictable roads, and loads of other obstacles.
Developed by Running Dog Software and Xantera, Harley-Davidson(r): Race Across America(tm) will be available at retail outlets nationwide in August for a suggested retail price of $29.95 or through secure online transactions at http://www.gtstore.com/.
