Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world's leading video game publishers today announced that it will be sponsoring the forthcoming i14 multiplayer gaming event that will be held this November in Newbury, UK. The involvement of Ubi Soft is part of the promotional campaign for the release next year of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield. The event will also be an opportunity for the gaming public to have an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated tactical first person shooter. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield is set for release in March 2003.

The i14 Tournament is the latest in the huge i-series events that have been organised and held by Multiplay UK (www.multiplay.co.uk) - who are by far the biggest organisers of local area networked (LAN) gaming events in the UK. Previous events have each attracted many hundreds of competitors, all of whom pay an enterance fee and bring their own PC and sleeping-bag for three or four days (and nights) of non-stop multiplayer gaming.

Reflecting on the previous Multiplay event was Craig Fletcher, Managing Director, Multiplay UK, "i12 was simply staggering. We had over 600 people attend, which is great for a summer event, and are looking ahead to an even-larger i14. It's great to have a publisher such as Ubi Soft prepared to showcase Raven Shield to the fans. We saw it demonstrated at ECTS and were really impressed - I'm sure the fans at i14 will be too."

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield is the third in the critically acclaimed Tom Clancy series, and follows Rainbow Six which pioneered the 'tactical shooter' genre and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear which was awarded PC Game of the year on both sides of the Atlantic. The specialist gaming press have already widely acknowledged that Raven Shield is not just something new to the series, but will bring a whole new level of realism and pure gaming enjoyment to the genre. Raven Shield will be released in March 2003, however a multiplayer demo will be available in time for i14 and will form the basis of a prize-winning tournament with a total value of £2,500.

"These events arranged by Multiplay are truly something to behold, and our involvement and the Ubi Soft tournament will be a great opportunity to show to the gaming community just how great a game Raven Shield is." Said Jim Hill, Senior Brand Manager, Ubi Soft UK.

i14 will be held on 15 - 17 November. Further information can be found by contacting Multiplay or Ubi Soft directly (see below). The multiplayer demo for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Raven Shield will be available in November for download at www.raven-shield.com
