Mattel Interactive brings it's unique style of racing to multiple Platforms

LOS ANGELES — May 11, 2000 — Mattel Interactive, leading publisher and developer of home entertainment software today announced its Mattel Wheels division’s 2000 line-up of titles. The division encompasses Mattel’s award winning Hot Wheels, Tyco and Matchbox properties and brings racing excitement to all major platforms. Mattel Interactive plans to broaden it's audience by taking advantage of the popularity of PlayStation and Game Boy Color and will provide players of all ages a memorable racing or building experience.

“Mattel Interactive has recognised that young gamers are not the only fans of our racing games. We have accepted the challenge of creating exciting racing titles across all platforms and have extended the Mattel brand to a broader audience – young boys, teens and adults,” said Bernard Stolar, president, Mattel Interactive.

Tyco R/C Assault with a Battery:The first Tyco R/C software title, Tyco R/C Assault with a Battery, puts players in control of some of the best-selling, high-performance radio controlled racing vehicles. Gamers use secret moves to unlock each vehicle’s special power to tear through a variety of challenging terrain and obstacles. Racers can play single or multi-player and can select from five modes including battle and championship mode and from five richly-detailed 3D environments.

Tyco R/C: Assault with a Battery is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for PlayStation.

Tyco R/C Racin’ Ratz:They’re quick and they’re looking for trouble. Tyco R/C Racin’ Ratz is the first Game Boy title with RAT-itude! The new title lets players experience all the scorching speed and cool
360-degree stunt action of the newest radio-control hit. The game will challenge even the best driver -- race’em and chase’em through fantastic environments.

Tyco R/C Racin’ Ratz is scheduled to be available in Q1 2001 for Game Boy Color.

Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 2:The excitement of Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver goes outside. Gamers can explore multiple terrains including water, mud and dirt with 12 different Hot Wheels cars that show the damage of hazardous driving on the PC. Drivers can experience three modes of racing and stunt driving including a World Championship mode, Pick-a-track and Build-a-track – creating their own track for the ultimate stunt track driving experience.

Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 2 is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for the PC.

Hot Wheels Jetz:Hot Wheels Jetz delivers flying excitement on the PC. Jetz is a flight simulation game where players fly a toy-sized plane through life-sized environments including the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Players must complete ten missions in eight different environments in order to save the collection of toys from destruction. Gamers choose from 15 aircraft to achieve their goals through two modes of play including a free flight mode in which players plan their own missions.

Hot Wheels Jetz is scheduled to be available in Q2 2001 for the PC.

Hot Wheels Slot Car Racing:Hot Wheels Slot Car Racing allows gamers to choose from 12 different Hot Wheels cars and use up to 16 different pieces to build custom tracks in the ultimate slot car competition. This hybrid PC and peripheral title allows players to connect the game’s slot car controllers into their gameport to race against the computer, or up to four competitors via Internet or LAN, on six different exciting tracks.

Hot Wheels Slot Car Racing is scheduled to be available in Q1 2001 for the PC.

Hot Wheels Racing: Williams F1 Team Driver:
Hot Wheels Racing Williams F1 Team Driver is an authentic Formula 1 racing game with a strong international team license and is easier to operate than most racing sims. Players become full-fledged F1 racers after successfully progressing through levels starting with go-karts and graduating to open-wheeled Fords, F1600 and F3, to full-fledged F1 racers. This is a sim title that immerses players in the “career challenge” of becoming a Formula 1 Driver.

Hot Wheels Racing: F1 Team Driver is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for the PC.

Matchbox Mission Bravo:Through a child’s imagination, everyday settings are transformed into vast battlefields in this exciting new game for the PC and Game Boy Color. Gamers can strategically position 14 different Mission Bravo toy boats, planes and tanks and watch as fantastic battles roar into action. Both solo and multi-player gaming modes are included.

Matchbox Mission Bravo is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for the PC and in Q1 2001 for Game Boy Color.

Matchbox Caterpillar Construction Zone 2: Gold Mining.
Kids are in charge of this full-fledged gold mining operation in this open-ended PC and Game Boy Color game. They operate massive, realistic CAT machines and explore nine different areas including a haunted old mine. Gamers jump into the action and discover secret mining areas and techniques to increase the operation’s productivity and obtain more gold.

Matchbox Caterpillar Construction Zone 2: Gold Mining is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for the PC and Gameboy Color.

Matchbox Caterpillar Adventures in Time:In Matchbox Caterpillar Adventures in Time, kids transform backyards into ancient landscapes and historical treasures. Players travel through time with their rugged CAT machines and build famous landmarks. Kids operate ten different CAT machines to create the ancient Egyptian pyramids, the Great Wall of China, a futuristic moon base and more. Kids can also print out and create 3D paper models of these fantastic monuments.

Matchbox Caterpillar Adventures in Time is scheduled to be available in Q4 2000 for the PC.

Matchbox Emergency Patrol:Kids become heroic police officers, daring firefighters and brave paramedics in vast Matchbox County. Matchbox Emergency Patrol allows gamers to speed into action to save the day, but they must first avoid obstacles and hectic terrain. Kids will enjoy hours of fun with 27 missions, three hidden mini-games and secret areas.

Matchbox Emergency Patrol is scheduled to be available in Q2 2001 for the PC and Game Boy Color.
