Jester Interactive has continued the retro gaming flavour, following the acquisition of Graftgold's back catalogue, by scooping the rights to the famous platform games Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner. The deal, that acquires the titles from publisher Software Projects, offers the opportunity to develop games based on the popular Spectrum games.
Created by Matthew Smith, Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner both received rave reviews at the time of release and are widely regarded as the most enduring and fondly remembered Spectrum games.
Work is underway to ensure that the titles translate well to next generation platforms and that mobile and handheld versions are faithful to the original games.
Gavin Morgan, Jester CEO, comments "Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner date back to the days when gameplay was king and these are two of the finest examples of this. This is a fantastic opportunity to see these classics make a comeback, rejuvenated to delight a whole new generation of gamers."
