The agreement grants Infogrames exclusive North American distribution rights to upcoming titles released by Davilex for the PC and next-generation platforms, marking the debut of Davilex titles in North America. The Davilex line-up currently calls for six titles to be distributed in North America by Infogrames. U.S. Racer, the first title covered by the agreement, is slated for release on the PC in January 2002, with console versions scheduled for the second quarter of 2002. U.S. Racer will be followed by Miami Powerboat Racer and Patriot Racer, PC titles scheduled for release in February and March, respectively.

“We’re obviously very excited about the opportunities within this industry in the coming years. We feel strongly that the philosophies which shape our product, corporate and retail strategies are well suited to the increased consumer reach and technical capabilities of today’s gaming platforms,” stated Roger Avis, CEO of Davilex BV. “The strength of Infogrames’ sales and distribution organization makes them the ideal partner for us in North America.”

“Davilex is a natural fit with our affiliate slate,” commented Wim Stocks, Senior Vice President, Sales and Distribution, Infogrames, Inc. “Their emphasis on titles for the mass market complements our own, so we’ll be able to successfully leverage the mass-merchant relationships within our distribution network to mutual benefit.”

Davilex has recently had great success throughout Europe where it holds a strong position in the racing genre, having released such chart hits as London Racer (UK), A2 Racer (Benelux), Autobahn Raser (German territories), Paris-Marseille Racing (France), and Europe Racer (Pan-Europe).
