Some games have the ability to capacity our imagination; few games ever surpass it. Having notched up over 15 million sales world-wide with GRAN TURISMO and GRAN TURISMO 2, Polyphony Digital Inc. have achieved things other developers would have sworn to be impossible. Surprisingly, the people behind GT are still not content. Led by GT's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, the size of the team's vision is so great, so ambitious that they keep refining their ultimate goal, combining visuals, sound effects and gameplay to produce the most realistic driving simulation game ever.

Early PlayStation®2 demos have shown just a fraction of Kazunori's vision for GRAN TURISMO 2000, with one solitary car proudly laying claim to the fact that it could never have existed on previously-available technology. The frame-rate, for example, is double that of its predecessors, resulting in enhanced suspension and tyre performance. All cars now offer smoother handling and more realistic control, helped by the pressure-sensitive analog buttons of the DUALSHOCK™2 controller. Improved and defined graphics work to create realistic car models as they appear and behave in the new, real-time realistic environment. They don't just drive better; as we would expect from PlayStation®2's emotion synthesis, the AI of rival cars is vastly improved to replicate the potential conditions of a real race.

As has happened before, details on improvements specific to GRAN TURISMO 2000 will be released closer to its completion date. But with Kazunori and Polyphony continuing their enthusiasm for, and dedication to, a supreme driving experience, we're certain we won't be disappointed.
