Arguably one of the most innovative action/strategy titles of the year, Evolva is the work of the highly respected Computer Artworks team who previously gained recognition through their groundbreaking Organic Art package in 1996. The game is slated for release in May 2000.
Evolva is certain to revitalise the action/strategy genre. The game pits the player against an alien parasite as it ravages a planet and attempts to blow the planet up so it can spread throughout the galaxy. Users are charged with mutating and evolving a squad of future soldiers, the Genohunters, and guiding them into a series of confrontations with the parasite’s armies before facing off with the central organism itself.
The game uses Computer Artworks’ incredible A-Life technology to create a believable environment inhabited by intelligent creatures. As battles rage across realistic 3D locations, game genres are mixed with ease as elements of shoot ‘em ups, platformers and tactical planning are effortlessly slotted into the action.
