THQ today announced Rugrats: All Growed Up for PC in celebration of the show’s one-hour primetime anniversary special this Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Rugrats: All Growed Up for PC will mark THQ’s 13th Rugrats release when it hits retail this fall, representing the longest running game franchise in the company’s history. Rugrats console and PC games have sold more than 7 million units worldwide.
“Nickelodeon has become an extremely important partner for THQ over the years and we are delighted with the ongoing success of the Rugrats property,” stated Jeff Lapin, vice chairman and COO, THQ. “Our 2001 line-up features not only Rugrats releases but games based on several other key Nickelodeon properties including SpongeBob SquarePants, Rocket Power, The Wild Thornberry’s and Nickelodeon’s holiday 2001 major motion picture, Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius.”
Rugrats: All Growed Up is based on Rugrats 10th anniversary primetime special that features the Rugrats babies 10 years older. The babies are watching their favorite TV show in the Pickle’s living room, Dr. Spooky, when they are suddenly transported 10 years into the future by Dr. Spooky’s time machine. It’s not long before the babies want to go back to being babies and must search for the parts to construct the un-time machine.
Additionally, THQ announced Rugrats: Castle Capers for Game Boy Advance. Rugrats: Castle Capers features all the Rugrats in a brand new adventure. Stu is commissioned to build a playground set for the Reptar Pizza restaurant chain. When Angelica spies the set in the backyard, she believes it’s a castle, deems herself queen and takes all the babies favorite possessions. Now the babies must band together to retrieve their belongings.
