Hubert Chardot single-handedly pioneered the "Horror" action adventure genre in computer gaming back in the early 90's with the legendary "Alone in the Dark" series. Now he's back with the most bizarre Sci-Fi action thriller of the year, "DEVIL INSIDE". Just released on PC in France two weeks ago, the game is now scheduled for UK release via Cryo Interactive on May 26th.
And for those of you who will make it to E3 in Los Angeles this year, should you want to interview Chardot, drop us an email in advance. If you thought The Matrix was one of the most ground breaking movies of 1999, just wait until you sink your teeth into Devil Inside.
Loosely based on the 1987 sci-fi thriller movie "The Running Man" starring Arnie Schwarzenegger. Add a stylish touch of the free roaming game play of Tomb Raider & the chilling atmosphere of Dawn of the Dead and Resident Evil, and be prepared to experience the ultimate game show in TV history.
With Wes Craven's "Scream 3" released theatrically in the UK on April 28th, come May 26th "Devil Inside" will be the perfect home computer game companion worth keeping you glued to the PC.
If you were frustrated about playing Resident Evil, waiting for the next room to load as you went through another door, Devil Inside does away with all that unnecessary stalling. As soon as you enter a new room, you enter in real-time, no delays.
Devil Inside boasts Gamesquad's exclusive real-time 3D engine "THEO" which includes a nifty focus zoom where the background gradually slides away from the subject, and Matrix liquid-style slow motion panning. The camera angles are cleverly looped and the speed can be manipulated. These stunning cinematographic effects perfectly re-create horror styles straight out of the movie genre.
You don't have to be Rosemary's Baby to enjoy the game, but let's put it this way; Mia Farrow probably won't be playing this game with Woody Allen.

If the horror genre in cinema re-invented itself last year with Blair Witch Project, Devil Inside will do the same for the horror genre in computer games. If you felt you were Alone in the Dark in the 90s, better start waking up to the Devil Inside in the 21st century.
