Revolution Software has today announced that its hugely anticipated Game Boy Advance version of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars is to be published world-wide by bam! entertainment. The game already wowing those who have seen early screen shots is due for release in early 2002.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars is the most successful European-developed graphic adventure and has sold more copies than any other adventure game developed in Europe. The title received huge critical acclaim when first published on the PC and PlayStation - with combined sales of more than a million copies.
Though the interface is being changed for Game Boy Advance, the heart of the game will remain unchanged with all the locations, puzzles and dialogue of the home formats. Graphically, many of the assets from the original title have been incorporated into this portable version, giving it the classic, high-quality look and feel the Broken Sword series has been renowned for. Furthermore, additional content will be added specifically for this version.
bam!s ambition impressed us enormously, says Charles Cecil, managing director, Revolution Software, its plans for Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars on GBA are hugely impressive, and, most importantly, it has an understanding of the heritage. We had huge interest from a number of publishers about working with us on this version on Game Boy Advance but at the end of the day, bam! entertainment proved the most exciting.
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars will be published by bam! entertainment in Q1, 2002, for Game Boy Advance.
