This announcement highlights the first titles to be release from Akaei, following their re-brand and name change from AAA Game.
Both The Grouch and M-Alien Paranoia have been developed by Spanish outfit Dinamic and Eclipse Software.
In Grouch, the player takes the role of a "nice but dim" barbarian and enters a cartoon style primitive world in order to recapture his sweetheart, who has been stolen by the evil ogres so that they can enrich the genetic map of their dying species. Grouch has to confront 20 different enemies, over five highly detailed and challenging levels to stand any chance of seeing his love again. Grouch's cartoon style combined with challenging game play promises to appeal to the serious and casual gamer alike.
M- Alien Paranoia is one of the cutest characters to hit the PC in years. Our wacky alien is flying through space to take "N" his girlfriend on a date. On the journey he tries to pass the time by playing a game of Human Invaders (our Alien's equivalent to Space Invaders) but his attention becomes so intense on winning that he forgets to fly the craft and crashes onto a strange and mysterious planet. It's up to the player to now help M rebuild his ship and unite with "N". With a whole planet to explore and some crazy inhabitants M offers some of the silliest scenarios offered to date.
The Grouch and M-Alien Paranoia are due for release in June 2001.
