THQ Announces Red Faction
Volition's highly anticipated first-person masterpiece for PlayStation 2 and PC.
Los Angeles, Calif. (at E3 Expo) - May 12, 2000 - THQ Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: THQI) announced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that it has partnered with acclaimed developer Volition, creators of the award-winning Descent and FreeSpace series, to bring the much-anticipated first-person shooter, Red Faction, to the PlayStation 2 and PC platforms.
Red Faction will introduce Volition's new Geo-Mod technology, a true breakthrough that allows players to unleash weapons not only on opponents, but also on the very corridors that constrain them, dramatically enhancing the realism and strategy of gameplay. Red Faction is scheduled for release for PlayStation 2 in winter 2001 and PC in spring 2001.
