THQ International Ltd today announced more Nickelodeon licensed Game Boy Color games based on two of Nickelodeon's most popular animated TV series - SpongeBob SquarePants and Rocket Power.

About the SpongeBob SquarePants TV Series:
The series takes place in the Pacific Ocean in the subterranean city of Bikini Bottom inhabited by a humorous sea sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants, who lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, and loves his job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. Whether searching for the ultimate spatula to perfect his Krabby-flipping technique, or just hanging out with his best friend Patrick the amiable starfish, SpongeBob has a knack for getting into trouble without really trying.

About the SpongeBob SquarePants Game:
In SpongeBob SquarePants: Legend of the Lost Spatula, players take on the role of SpongeBob as he travels through Bikini Bottom, on a quest to find the Flying Dutchman's Golden Spatula. The objective - to become the greatest fry cook of all time. SpongeBob must find hidden clues, unlock secret levels, avoid jellyfish and even feed hungry ghosts as he searches for the Golden Spatula. SpongeBob is joined along the way by Sandy Cheeks, Squidworth, and Mr. Krabs and, his very best friend, Patrick Star in this under water adventure. With artwork and over 10 game levels based on SpongeBob SquarePants, kids can re-live the cartoon over and over! The game is released on 13th April 2001 at £24.99. SpongeBob SquarePants is showing on Nickelodeon UK during Easter and throughout the summer holidays. "In America the series currently ranks the #2 property on all Kids TV with more than 28 million viewers each month," stated the THQ's UK Marketing Manager for children's titles, Sarah Bincliffe. "The popularity of the animated series is rapidly multiplying. UK retailers can't wait for the first SpongeBob SquarePants videogame."

THQ International and Nickelodeon are also pleased to announce the first interactive Rocket Power adventure for Game Boy Color. Based on Nickelodeon's exciting animated TV series, Rocket Power: Gettin'Air is set for nationwide UK release on 13th April 2001 and will retail at £24.99.
