SCi acquires computer and video game rights to Thunderbirds.

SCi Entertainment Group plc and Carlton International today announce an agreement whereby SCi has acquired the worldwide computer and video games rights to the cult sci-fi series Thunderbirds.

The games will be designed for both Next Generation consoles systems, such as Playstation 2, and on-line gaming via the Internet.

It is intended that the launch of the games will follow the worldwide digitally restored re-release of the 32 part series.

Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson said: "SCi's investment in the Thunderbirds video game once again illustrates the massive pulling power of the show. Everything points to another enormous success when Thunderbirds returns to our screens in the autumn of 2000.
What a great way to start the millennium!"

Thunderbirds, which originally aired in the UK in 1965, is being digitally restored and will be back on BBC2 in the Autumn 2000. Carlton International, which acquired Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation catalogue as part of its acquisition of the ITC Library earlier this year, has signed up over 20 licensees for Thunderbirds to date and reports intense interest in the property.

Sian Facer, Head of Consumer Products at Carlton International said: "SCi is a perfect partner for Thunderbirds and we are very excited about the development of the computer and video games. This deal is a perfect indicator of how relevant Thunderbirds is to today's audience - the series has a timeless appeal and is attracting a huge amount of interest from a
wide range of licensees."

Jane Cavanagh, Chief Executive of SCi said: "Thunderbirds is a classic among licensed properties, an icon brand with mass appeal and proven success. Thunderbirds is an enduring concept already straddling almost three entire generations. This property will translate into
the ultimate gameplay experience and is perfectly suited to the arrival of Next Generation consoles and gaming via the Internet."
