UK-based KOCH Media today announced the signing of a major publishing and distribution deal with one of France's leading children's multimedia workshop and print activity developers, LSP (Light and Shadow Production). The deal takes in a number of high quality children's games and print activity software aimed at 5-11 year olds. Titles include The Road To El Dorado, Dinosaur'Us, Antz and Felix The Cat.
The first batch of print activity releases are released February 16th 2001, and these include The Road To El Dorado (which is based on the top grossing Dreamworks animated feature film) and Dinosaur'Us. Both titles will retail for £19.99 each.
Both multimedia workshop PC CD-Roms are followed by the March 2nd of two releases from LSP's budget PC CD range "Game Story". At a price point of £9.99 each, these titles include Antz and Felix The Cat (based on the hit movie and classic TV series respectively)
"This is just the start of what will become a longstanding partnership with LSP," says Koch's Commercial Director, Kerri Davies. "Combining LSP's great film studios connections with our entrepreneurial marketing and distribution expertise allows us to place the product at the most appropriate price, time and place. The real value of these titles is that we recognise the brand. Children today have totally accepted that their favourite characters are delivered by video, book & music and therefore have more access to consumer electronics. The transportation of the licence to the PC is just another step towards FMCG."
In The Road To El Dorado, children will be able to play games, install desktop themes and develop the artistic and manual skills they need for development, observation, imagination and perception of colours, shapes, experimentation and agility. The print workshop boasts 15 activities for designing and printing games and gadgets, postcards to send to your best friends, personalised clothing, party accessories and room decorations.
Dinosaur'Us includes 15 desktop themes including screen savers, wallpaper, cursors, icons and unique sounds. Children will be able to participate in colouring games, puzzles, all of which can be printed in colour or emailed to their friends. The workshop also enables kids to customise their documents by importing their own pictures.
